A camping shower tent provides a private enclosure; it does not automatically provide drainage or a safe support for a heavy shower bag. Choose the shelter and water system together, then check that the campsite permits the arrangement.

Measure space to wash and change
Check the width at shoulder and elbow height, not only the floor dimensions. Practise the movements needed to wash and dry yourself without pushing against the walls. Consider whether you need a separate dry changing space.
The entrance should be easy to operate from inside and offer enough clearance for the person using it. If someone needs assistance, establish the real space and access requirements instead of assuming a one-person utility tent will be adequate.
Check privacy in actual lighting
Look at the fabric and closure with light coming from behind and from inside. A shelter that appears opaque in one situation may show silhouettes in another. Position a lamp sensibly and keep the door and ventilation panel arranged as intended.

Do not overload the roof

Plan where the water goes

Choose a level, appropriate position and a stable surface underfoot. Follow the shelter instructions for pegs and guylines, and keep the access route clear of hoses and loose straps.
Keep dry belongings organised
