Choose the original Helinox Chair One when compact packing matters most. Consider Chair Two when you want a higher back and are happy to carry a larger package. The extra back support can be worthwhile for long evenings at camp, but it needs to meet your shoulders and head comfortably.

Keep the model names straight
This guide compares the original Chair One with Chair Two. The newer Chair One (re), Chair One High-Back (re) and heavier-fabric Chair Two HDB are different products. Do not apply their dimensions or accessories automatically to these models.

Overall height is the top of the chair, not the height of its seat above the ground. Check the correct measurement if getting in and out is your main concern.
What the higher back changes
Chair Two gives more support above the shoulders than Chair One. Sit in it if possible and check where the upper fabric reaches on your body. A taller back is not automatically a well-positioned headrest for every person.
Consider your usual activity. A compact seat may be enough for brief cooking stops and meals. Reading or sitting outside for an extended evening may make additional upper-body support more valuable.
Compare the packed shape
The longer Chair Two package needs more room across a pannier, rucksack or storage locker. Measure the opening through which the bag must pass, not just the total volume of the compartment.
