A softer air beam on a cold morning is different from a beam that repeatedly collapses in steady conditions. Before reaching for a patch, establish what changed and where air might be escaping. That first distinction can save an unnecessary repair.

Start with the tent’s own inflation instructions
Find the manual for the exact model and year. Note the operating pressure, valve positions and any procedure for isolating individual beams. Use the specified units: a number read from the wrong scale on a gauge is not a reliable measurement.
Record when you inflated the tent and whether the temperature subsequently fell. Outwell’s air-tube troubleshooting guide explains that colder conditions can reduce pressure. Repeatedly topping up without considering later warming can create a different problem.
Check which part is losing support
Observe whether one beam or the entire connected system is affected. Check accessible closures for their correct position and look for obvious damage. Follow the manufacturer’s approved leak-location procedure; do not open a protective sleeve simply to see what is inside.
For Outwell’s covered Smart Air systems, the protective sleeve must remain closed while the tube is inflated, and the inner tube must not be inflated outside that sleeve. If the sleeve bulges, reduce pressure as directed and investigate through the manufacturer or retailer.
Use suitable measuring equipment

Decide whether to repair or replace
Write down the model, affected beam position and what you observed. A valve fault, puncture and damaged protective sleeve may require different parts or procedures. Ask the supplier to identify the correct component rather than ordering a tube by its approximate length alone.
After any approved repair, test the tent at home through normal temperature changes and check the repaired area. Do not rely on frequent topping-up to conceal an unresolved leak. Keep a record of the repair and arrange a replacement where the manufacturer describes the fix as temporary.
