Which versions are being compared?

Choose around the evening you expect
For finding kit, reading and walking around an established campsite, useful low settings and an even close-range beam matter more than maximum output. The Tikka’s wide beam makes it a sensible model to investigate for that pattern of use.
The Actik Core’s mixed beam is the more relevant feature when you want both nearby coverage and light further ahead. That may justify the purchase for someone who also walks or runs after dark. Higher maximum output alone does not establish which torch will feel better on your head or suit a particular route.
Compare the total cost of rechargeable use
The Actik Core includes its rechargeable pack. If you plan to add a CORE pack to a standard Tikka immediately, include that separate purchase when comparing prices. For occasional use with spare AAA cells, the Tikka package may be more convenient without another charging routine.
The current Actik Core pack charges by USB-C, with the cable listed separately from the supplied contents. Check what your seller includes. Older products and battery packs can use different charging connections, so a familiar product name is not enough to establish cable compatibility.
