Assess comfort in your sleeping position
A thicker mat gives more depth to work with, but comfort also depends on the internal structure and inflation pressure. Lie on it with your shoulders and hips in their normal positions. Adjust pressure according to the instructions instead of assuming the firmest possible inflation is best.
