A portable power station may have enough electrical output for an electric blanket, but that is only one part of the decision. The blanket must also be approved for the intended environment, placement and supply. A low wattage does not automatically make indoor bedding suitable for a tent.

Check both manufacturers’ instructions
Read the blanket’s permitted use, voltage, power and controller requirements. Then check the power station’s output type and compatibility. Ask the manufacturer if the instructions do not clearly cover your proposed arrangement.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service’s blanket guidance distinguishes overblankets from underblankets and advises keeping a blanket flat and dry. Follow the current instructions for your own model, including any restrictions on mattresses or sleeping arrangements.
Calculate the energy requirement
For a hypothetical blanket drawing a steady 50W, two hours uses 100Wh and six hours uses 300Wh. A thermostat may cycle, but you need measured or manufacturer data to estimate the actual average accurately.
For another illustration, a 300Wh battery with an assumed 80% useful delivery would provide 240Wh. At a steady 50W, that suggests 4.8 hours before any reserve or other loads. The assumption is not a runtime claim for a named blanket or station.
Do not read watts as hours
A station’s maximum output tells you the load it can support, not how long it can support it. Check stored watt-hours separately. Include the inverter’s consumption and any lights or devices sharing the battery.

Plan the physical arrangement
Keep the station, plugs and controller dry, appropriately ventilated and clear of bedding as directed. Route the lead so it cannot be trapped, pulled or damaged. Do not use a product with worn fabric, exposed wiring or a damaged connection.
Follow all timing and supervision requirements. A timer or automatic shut-off is not permission for a use the manufacturer excludes. If the equipment cannot be positioned correctly in the tent, choose another warmth strategy.
Keep warmth independent of the battery
Choose suitable sleeping-bag insulation, a sleeping mat and dry clothing for the expected conditions. Electrical heating should not be the only thing keeping a marginal sleep system usable.
Test any approved arrangement before the trip and retain enough charge for essential devices. If suitability remains unclear, leave the blanket at home and improve the non-electric sleep system instead.
Start with sleeping-mat insulation and the correct sleeping-bag comfort rating so your warmth plan remains useful if the battery runs out.
