If your camping electric hook-up trips, pause before switching everything back on. Protection may have operated because of excessive load, damaged equipment or an electrical fault. The fact that power returns once does not establish that the setup is safe.

Stop using anything suspect
Keep clear of wet, damaged or unusually hot electrical equipment. If there is a burning smell, visible damage or water at a connection, stop using the supply and ask campsite staff for assistance. Do not handle wet plugs or open equipment to investigate.
Make the area safe for other people and describe what happened. Tell the site which appliances were operating, whether it happened when one started, and whether neighbouring pitches lost power. These observations are more useful than repeated resets.
Review the load list
If there is no visible hazard, compare appliance input ratings with the limits of the pitch and your equipment. A 1,000W kettle plus a 1,500W heater totals 2,500W, approximately 10.9A at 230V. That exceeds a nominal 10A supply before background loads are included.
Write down the items that were actually switched on. A fridge may cycle automatically, while a charger may draw differently as charging progresses. Reducing simultaneous loads can address an overload, but it does not repair a fault.
Know which protection operated
A circuit breaker provides overcurrent protection; an RCD responds to certain current imbalances associated with leakage. Some equipment combines functions. Ask the site or a qualified electrician to interpret an unclear or repeated trip instead of assuming every event means too many watts.

Reset only as directed
Campsite equipment belongs to the site, and access or reset arrangements vary. Contact staff and follow their directions. Never bypass protection, hold a switch on or fit a higher-rated protective device to stop nuisance tripping.
If the supply trips again after the permitted reset and load adjustment, stop using it until the cause is checked. Do not keep trying an appliance that appears linked to the problem.
Prepare for the next trip
