An adjustable-height camping table can serve different chairs and activities, but there are two distinct features to look for: changing the overall working height and levelling individual feet. A table can offer one without offering the other.

Decide which adjustment you need

Do not confuse levelling feet with a large height range. They may correct modest variations in ground level without turning a dining table into a comfortable standing worktop.
Measure your chair-and-table combination
Sit in your camping chair and check the height that feels comfortable for eating. Include armrest clearance and the space for your knees beneath the tabletop. A cross-brace may obstruct your legs even when the surface itself is high enough.
If the table will also support games or food preparation, rehearse those activities with the equipment cold and unloaded as appropriate. One adjustable table may cover several roles, but it must still be suitable for each intended use.

Adjust without a loaded tabletop
Follow the manufacturer’s setup sequence and remove objects before changing the height unless the instructions explicitly permit otherwise. Check every lock and support before use. If the table feels unstable at a permitted setting, reassess the ground and assembly rather than continuing to load it.
Do not extend a telescopic leg beyond its marked limit or replace a missing section with an improvised support. A level-looking surface does not prove that all four legs are securely supported.
Check the pack-away routine
Keep removable leg sections in their designated storage positions and count them before leaving the pitch. Grit around adjustment mechanisms can make setup harder, so clean and dry the table according to its care instructions.
Measure the folded package with every component included. A useful adjustable table should fit both your seated routine and your transport plan. Choose the mechanism you will use regularly, rather than paying for a large adjustment range that never leaves one setting.
