Choose the SOTO WindMaster if its Micro Regulator valve and interchangeable pot-support arrangement justify the extra cost for your trips. The Amicus with igniter is a simpler option with folding supports attached to the stove. Both can suit lightweight cooking, but compare the complete package and your actual pot before deciding.

Compare like-for-like versions
This guide uses the WindMaster with 4Flex and Amicus OD-1NVE with igniter. The Amicus without an igniter is a different version, and a WindMaster weight quoted with TriFlex does not describe the supplied 4Flex setup.

Pot support is a daily-use difference
The WindMaster’s detachable support gives you a choice, but also adds a loose part to manage. Put it in the same place whenever you pack away. The optional TriFlex reduces the stove weight to 67g and has different cookware limits; it is not a free weight saving for every pot.
The Amicus supports fold around the stove and lock into their working position. Check that all four are deployed correctly. Try placing your intended pot on the unlit setup to judge access to the valve and how the base sits on the supports.
Choose around your cooking
Both have adjustable flames, so “Amicus” does not mean “boiling only”. Think about the meals you cook, the pan base and how much stirring is involved. A narrow pot perched on a small canister deserves careful handling whatever the burner name.
WindMaster’s regulator is a design distinction, not a guarantee that any fuel works in any weather. Follow the fuel and operating limits in the SOTO manual for your stove. Do not attach an improvised adapter to an incompatible cylinder.
Keep the comparison realistic
Wind resistance claims do not make either stove storm-proof. Cook outdoors in a safe, suitable location away from tent fabric. Use the manufacturer’s wind-protection guidance and never create an enclosure that overheats the fuel canister.
Carry a suitable backup ignition source and practise lighting the stove before the trip. The useful comparison is your complete working kit, including pot, fuel, support and lighter, rather than six grams between two bare-stove figures.
