A 12V camping light needs a supply that matches its specified electrical requirements. It is not interchangeable with a USB light or a mains-powered light simply because an adapter appears to fit.

Read the input label
Look for the permitted voltage range, whether the light requires DC, its power or current draw, and the connector arrangement. Check polarity where relevant. A matching barrel-plug diameter does not establish that two products belong together.
Start with a complete lighting kit and its approved power cable where possible. If the instructions do not clearly support your intended battery or outlet, ask the manufacturer before connecting it. Avoid improvised wiring or direct battery connections without appropriate design and protection.
Distinguish 12V from USB
A light with a USB connection has its own input requirements. Do not feed 12V directly into it. Likewise, an ordinary USB bank is not a universal 12V supply, even when an online listing offers a cable with the right-looking end.
Some portable stations provide both USB and a vehicle-style DC outlet. The EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus manual, for example, specifies its DC outlet at 12.6V, 10A and 126W maximum. The light must explicitly accept the actual output, and the correct cable is still required.
Add all the lights
For a hypothetical 12V light drawing 0.5A, input power is 6W. Three such lights total 18W. Running them for four hours uses 72Wh before supply losses and any other equipment are counted.
This calculation assumes the stated current applies at the chosen brightness. Dimming may reduce consumption, but use measured or manufacturer figures rather than inventing a proportional saving for every dimmer setting.
Plan placement and cable routes
Measure the distance from the supply to the first light and between lighting positions. Check the permitted extensions and maximum connected length. Keep cables away from doorways and use attachment points intended to carry the equipment.
Choose brightness for the task: gentle area lighting for sitting, with a separate focused light for detailed work. Avoid pointing bright LEDs into neighbouring pitches. Check weather protection for the lights, switches and connections individually.
Compare the complete supply
The RIVER 3 Plus 286Wh is one multi-output supply to compare if your compatible lighting also shares power with other equipment. It may be unnecessary for a small USB-only setup.
Test the exact lights, cable and supply before departure, including any low-load automatic shut-off behaviour. Keep a separate torch available. A reliable lighting setup comes from matching every part of the chain, not from choosing the largest battery or brightest strip.
